BRLS Suction Mount Maintenance
FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE PLEASE FOLLOW THIS GUIDE TO PROPERLY CARE FOR YOUR MOUNT.
Q. How should I clean my BRLS Mounts?
While all BRLS Mounts are designed to resist the damaging effects of the harshest environments, we recommend removing and washing your Mount (and camera) after each use in clear, fresh water. A mild soap solution can be used as necessary. DO NOT use household chemicals or cleaning agents, as they may damage the molecular structure of the rubbers and thermoplastics used on your Mounts.
Q. Can my BRLS Mount ever separate unintentionally?
The short answer is yes it’s possible. However, we like to think of our Mounts as virtually invincible under most conditions, when properly installed. We’ve tested our Mounts in the pumping surf of the Pacific, in the backcountry bowls North America, on the Highways across the Aloha State, and on the dirt trails of the Ko’olau and Waianae ranges. Have fun, play hard. Failures are typically due to improper surface preparation or user installation.
Q. Why did a Mounting Foot lose suction right away?
Usually a Mounting Foot will lose suction and detach within a minute if improperly installed. Please follow all installation instructions as indicated above. Note: If you attempt to install the BRLS Mount on a very curved surface, the Mounting Feet may not create a proper seal and vacuum with the mounting surface. BRLS Board Mounts are compatible with many helmets when installed in the proper location on the helmet.
ALWAYS TEST YOUR BRLS MOUNT BEFORE USING.
Q. What do I do if a Mounting Foot tears?
If your Mounting Feet become damaged or compromised in any way, we highly recommend discarding them and replacing them with genuine BRLS Mounting Feet.
Q. How do I remove/reinstall the Mounting Head?
Your aluminum Mounting Head can be removed for use with standard tripods, monopods, or poles. To remove, use your Thumbscrew for leverage and unscrew the Mounting head in a counter-clockwise fashion. If this is your first time removing the Head, it will be factory tight and may require additional leverage. Before reinstalling, moisten the rubber gasket. This will allow the Mount Head to tighten firmly and lock back into place.
